Edward E. Abels Jr.
Ed is currently General Counsel of Rockcliff Energy and has over 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He is a member of the Texas, Louisiana and Colorado Bar Associations. Before joining Rockcliff Energy, he most recently served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of PetroQuest Energy, Inc, a publicly traded upstream oil and gas company. He also previously served as General Counsel for Texas Crude Energy, LLC, was a shareholder in the law firm of Greenberg Traurig, LLP and earlier in his career served in various in-house counsel positions of increasing responsibility with several energy companies and in private practice with two large law firms. Prior to receiving his law degree from Louisiana State University in 1993, he worked for nine years as an operations and drilling engineer for Tenneco Exploration & Production Company and ARCO Oil & Gas Company. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University in 1981.
